Sensitisation to peanut LTP (rAra h 9) in children allergic to peach
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction Non-specific lipid transfer proteins (LTPs) are panallergens present in plant foods and are recognized as maior allergens in patients allergic to Rosaceae family fruits from the Mediterranean area. On the contrary, seed storage proteins are the most important allergens in peanut allergy worldwide, although some authors from Southern Europe found Ara h 9 (peanut LTP) as the maior allergen. The aim of the study was to analyze the sensitization to Ara h 9 in children allergic to peach, and the association with clinical tolerance to peanut.

Response to major peach and peanut allergens in a population of children allergic to peach
Introduction Peach allergy is one of the most common allergies in subjects with reactions to plant-foods. The relationship between peach allergy and other foods and the sensitization pattern in these patients have not been studied in detail. We study the sensitization to relevant allergens, such as peach and peanut LTP, Prup3 and Arah9, and seed storage protein, Arah2. Studies were carried out ...
متن کاملComponent-Resolved Diagnosis of Peanut Allergy and Its Possible Origins of Sensitization in China.
BACKGROUND Clinical and immunological characteristics of food allergies vary depending on geographic regions. Little is known about peanut allergy in China. The aim of this study was to investigate the peanut sensitization profile in China. METHODS Thirty-eight participants with immunoglobulin E (IgE)-positive responses to peanuts (peanut-sensitized) were included in our study, and clinical c...
متن کاملImproving diagnostic performances of peanut allergy using novel molecular components
Accurate in-vitro component-based diagnosis will allow clinicians to focus their efforts toward complex issues such as disease severity and reactive dose evaluation as well as establishing effective eviction measures. However to achieve this, clinical utility of component-resolved peanut allergy testing must be rigorously evaluated. In this pilot study, we compared performances of 2 component-r...
متن کاملAllergy to peanut lipid transfer protein (LTP): frequency and cross-reactivity between peanut and peach LTP.
BACKGROUND Lipid transfer protein (LTP) is a widely cross-reacting plant pan-allergen, and sensitized patients may react to many foods. Although peanut allergy is frequently reported by LTP-allergic patients, the evidence of the presence of an allergen homologous to LTP in peanuts is limited. OBJECTIVE To assess the prevalence of peanut allergy in patients sensitized to LTP, detect any allerg...
متن کاملUtility of Specific IgE to Ara h 2 in Italian Allergic and Tolerant Children Sensitized to Peanut
Emerging data suggest that measurement of serum IgE to peanut components can be clinically helpful and more accurate than IgE to whole peanut to predict peanut allergy. Not all studies have used prospective samples, multiple components and oral challenges. Currently, there are no data on this topic involving Italian children. 32 patients (23 males; median age 9 years) with reported history for ...
